Software Developer - FIX Specialist - Contract or Permanent - Switzerland - URGENT

The role calls for a well rounded, technical and hands-on IT specialist to develop and support the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol, its infrastructure and its in/out interfaces to various systems. The role is mainly a technical one, but provides ample exposure to the business processes
The main tasks in this role are:
Develop software, both by extending existing systems and developing new ones from scratch
Be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle (from analysis and specification through to testing, deployment and then 3rd level support) but with the emphasis on systems development
Play a major role in FIX client- and market-side implementations
Improve FIX testing offering through automation and simulation
Work with a demanding user base, being capable of communicating on the users’ terms
Remain up-to-date by pro-actively adjusting to future FIX protocol versions
The role requirements are:
Degree, preferably a computer science related degree
Minimum of 3 years experience with client/server development based on Unix, Windows NT and relational databases
Experience in a financial services company in the securities area is preferred
Strong FIX, Java2SE, UNIX, Database (Oracle / Hibernate) and SQL knowledge
Profound knowledge of the FIX protocol and messaging in general from a development as well as support perspective is a must
Excellent oral and written skills in English ( German a strong plus)
Please note that for this position, you must either be a Swiss or European citizen or hold a valid work permit for Switzerland.
I will consider non-EU citizens but remember it’s not easy to get work permit.
