Hello,

I am newbie at development. Now working to implement QuickFix engine with java. For local test and show messages to clients, i found minifix test tool but it is not working at macos. Can you offer any other tools like minifix for macos ?

Thanks a alot.

You could try the github Python and Perl versions on MacOS. I know perl works very well out of the box on both Windows and Unix.

fwiw I use a lot of chatGPT perl scripting in parsing FIX messages. For example, try this in chatGPT.
_“write a perl program to parse FIX protocol messages and output a selected list of tag numbers in csv format, taking input tags as a comma separated parameters, and input file as another parameter”_

There was [https://fixpusher.sourceforge.net/](https://fixpusher.sourceforge.net/) FIXPusher. Don’t know if it still works.

Also QuickFIX/J has some example apps bundled: [https://github.com/quickfix-j/quickfixj/tree/master/quickfixj-examples](https://github.com/quickfix-j/quickfixj/tree/master/quickfixj-examples)

I’ve got a project on github that’s a few years old that provides a Vaadin-based web UI (so it’ll work cross-platform) for viewing fix messages. I’ve built on this style of framework in my day job to provide other tooling like message replays etc. (I can’t post a link here but you can search GitHub for ‘repo:beirtipol/jfixtools’ )

The more recent versions of Vaadin are a lot nicer to code in and it’s really not much effort to connect the parsing logic to a DB or file log source.

There’s also an experiment with using cucumber for testing FIX message creation and manipulation that may help with your local testing and dev. Hope it’s of some help to you.
