Hey,
I recently heard someone mention that instead of using FIX one of the companies he was working at was using something called VALUES. Has anyone else heard of this?
Thanks,

They are probably referring to the VALUES (Virtual Access Link Using Exchange Services) API. Have a look at:

They are probably refering to the VALUES API from the Deutsche Boerse see http://deutsche-boerse.com/dbag/dispatch/en/kir/gdb_navigation/technology/30_Access_Products/30_Values_API

Building on John’s reply and for reference:
You can also use FIX instead of VALUES through the Xentric FIX gateway (http://tinyurl.com/2rmq3s deutsche-boerse.com), which wraps the VALUES API.

This is just to confirm the information from the other postings about VALUES being the generic interface of Group Deutsche Boerse to various markets such as Xetra (cash) and Eurex (derivatives) and Xentric FIX being our product to wrap this interface for those that want to connect to us using FIX.
Feel free to mail me offline if you need any further information.
Thank you,
