FIXProtocol.org's search is broken

Hi,

FIXProtocol.org’s search is broken. Refer “FIXProtocol homepage” at

The functionality of search box which is at the bottom of the left side links is broken. When I search for any text (phrase / words) I get a “Google Sorry”, refer

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kay_mahesh/5928117459/

But Google Advanced search of site:fixprotocol.org is working fine.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention; we’ve updated the Google custom search code and it works again now. (Although, clicking a result now opens that page in a new window; I can’t seem to see an option to disable that but I’ll keep looking.)

Wow, we really didn’t get to that 2005 suggestion, did we? Sorry. This is still an excellent idea, and I think I see in SQL how to do the “most recently updated” page without using Google. I’ll open an issue for this and test some ideas. Thanks for the reminder - Nic

Sorry Nic, I posted it as reply to a wrong Thread. See the Thread below this. This has nothing to do with Google search sorry.

Right, and I meant that we could do it without using the search function, by leaving the messages in their thread context but ordering the threads by most-recent-update, like this:

http://forum-sort.test.fixprotocol.org/discuss/22?sort=active

Do you think that would be a good solution? Or, would it be better just to have an unthreaded most-recent-message view similar to the search results? Thanks -

Nic

Hi Nic,

The UnThreaded most recent messages view similar to search results is more appealling because in the other view presently rendered at

http://forum-sort.test.fixprotocol.org/discuss/22?sort=active

it still shows the discussions as Threads and within the Thread the user would have to locate the latest messages whereas with the unthreaded most recent messages search results like view shows most recent messages on the top of the page.
