FixSpec Launches Free Chrome Extension For Specification Search & Tracking

Grab The Latest Spec In 3 Clicks

London, 13 February 2014

FixSpec is pleased to announce the immediate launch of a free Chrome extension, embedding the power and convenience of FixSpec's specification indexing service into the world's most popular browser. Users no longer need to scrape venue websites or join multiple email distribution lists; our extension lets them search, download and pin specs for later. All within three clicks or less.

Founder Chris Lees commented "We are always looking for ways to give better tooling to friends and customers working to build and maintain trading and market data connections. Keeping up with the rapid pace of spec change is harder than people think, especially for software vendors or in-house developers who often juggle 50 or more venues at once. And that's before you start the 'spot-the-difference' game between two PDF specs. Almost 50% of visitors to fixspec.com use the Chrome browser, so we know that this extension will bring immediate benefit to a large swathe of the industry."

The extension is available for free from the Chrome Web Store.

Both the Chrome extension and registration on fixspec.com are free. For additional information please contact happytohelp@fixspec.com.

About FixSpec

FixSpec Ltd is an innovative, London-based web company dedicated to simplifying and accelerating connectivity in financial markets. We deliver tools to help exchanges, trading firms and vendors make connections faster by improving API documentation and supplying tools to help developers code to an interface with fewer errors. We are protocol-agnostic, offering support for popular protocols such as FIX and ITCH, but also supporting proprietary text and binary protocols.

FixSpec's core product set includes

  • Hosted API simulator. The platform allows clients to connect, develop and test 24 x 7 over the internet and receive realistic responses as if they were interacting with a user-acceptance environment. Certification progress is tracked in real-time as the developer interacts naturally with the simulator (as opposed to following a pre-defined script of interactions).
  • Enterprise monitoring and certification platform (Central). Central listens to trading traffic within your existing trading environments, and provides powerful search, analytic and alerting capabilities. Central can also test data against certification scenarios with a single click, allowing users to certify activity in their own environments (including production) quickly and easily.
