Github Content Currency / FIX Repository

On “fixtrading.org” the latest FIX Repository content appears to be that filed under EP 240. The terms and conditions attached to the FIX Repository on “fixtrading.org” comprise of a proprietary license.

On Github, the content currently available for FIX Repository is for EP 196 of 2015. The license attached to the Github repository is an Apache license.

(a) Does FIX Trading intend to keep the Github content up to date with the latest FIX Repository content?

(b) Does FIX Trading intend to converge the license terms so that all of the content up to the latest EP is available under the Apache license?

© If No to be, perhaps you could outline the rationale for the current license differences.

We do see that in the last week or so, updated content is being posted to the Github repository. Hopefully we see the FIX Repository content being updated too!

Thank you for your queries. We do not intend to update the latest FIX Repository or Orchestra file in GitHub. We do plan to disseminate Orchestra files for EPs in the future through other means.

The FIX Repository was initially published under the proprietary license and then Github followed more recently. The data files in GitHub were intended as examples and test data only. As a follow-up, we can add a notice in GitHub that the data files should be considered non-normative for FIX standards.

This noted, thank you.
