Greenline Financial Technologies Advances FIX Protocol Testing with VeriFIX 3.5
Chicago: 17 November 2005 - Leading electronic trading solutions provider, Greenline Financial Technologies Inc. today announced the release of the latest version of its FIX Protocol Testing Suite, VeriFIX 3.5. VeriFIX is the most comprehensive FIX regression and performance testing system available in the marketplace today.

VeriFIX can be operated to function as either a server or a client simulator for both buy-side & sell-side scenarios. Using the Scenario Editor in VeriFIX, QA analysts, business analysts, developers and other FIX connectivity professionals can quickly create custom test scripts to perform thread management testing, performance testing, or high-speed order injection (load) testing. No programming or scripting language experience is required to setup complex scenarios. For dynamic load testing, VeriFIX gives users the ability to create timing scenarios, in-flight fill scenarios, and perform pseudo-random price injection by specifying a ‘min/max’ level and a quantity of messages.
The VeriFIX 3.5 release expands the product’s capabilities in many areas. The new functionality includes:
Enhanced Log Replay Functionality – This release adds the ability to integrate FIX production log replay as part of a test scenario. Users are able to point to a particular log file and assign specific Message Templates to be leveraged as part of the replay. This allows some data to be generated dynamically by VeriFIX while the rest can be referenced directly from the log file. In addition, users can choose to set the message throttle rate of the replay, replay it as it occurred originally, or replay it in “accelerated real-time”.
Quick Message Sender – The new Quick Message Sender allows the VeriFIX user to preview and modify a message generated by a Message Template prior to sending it to a counterparty. This combines the benefits of auto-generation of data through a template with the ability to modify message fields manually. Interactive testing with clients and systems is streamlined through the use of this component.
External System Integration – A test scenario can now be configured to integrate synchronously or asynchronously with an external process or system. This allows VeriFIX to integrate with other testing tools and non-FIX protocol systems. VeriFIX is able to pass or fail a scenario based on feedback from these other systems.
Performance Testing Optimization – Users can now control additional settings to optimize for performance testing. This includes generating a batch file to execute multiple client or server simulation tests at once. Users also now have control over the granularity of logging by VeriFIX to minimize the machine resources leveraged by VeriFIX during the test.
Third Party Database Capabilities – This release allows VeriFIX test scenarios to insert, update, and query directly from a JDBC compliant database. Users can leverage this to reference lookup tables for populating FIX messages or interact with a dynamically updating order book table.
