Hong Kong - Quantitative Analyst

Global investment bank seeks a Quantitative Analyst, to be based in Hong Kong. The key responsibilities are:

  • Provide execution research and statistical models to trading desks in Asia Pacific, including Advanced Execution, Program Trading, Index Arbitrage, Statistical Arbitrage and market making.
  • Assist others to comprehend quantitative frameworks, and how to apply the models to their trading activities
  • Contribute actively to the global quantitative team in developing trading applications, models, and frameworks, and ensure global developers understand the requirements of the Asian markets.
  • Provide on-going support to the Asia Pacific team in identifying creative solutions to quantitative challenges
  • Build and maintain Asian data bases for model back-testing
  • Build and maintain back testing and simulation environments
  • Coordinate with external research resources, validate and integrate with internal solutions.
  • Market quantitative execution ideas to Asian internal and external clients.

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of a master degree required, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or Technology; a PhD degree would be an advantage
  • Strong experience managing and developing back testing frameworks and databases, capability to utilize data in a value adding manner
  • Strong technical development skills that span across the Windows and UNIX platforms.
  • Strong development experience with SQL, VB / VBA, and at least one of C#, C++ or Java.
  • Strong experience in equity market microstructure, Asian market exposure an advantage
  • Must have outstanding analytical ability and experience applying statistical/mathematical theory to real-world situations
  • Fluent English is essential, fluency in an Asian language a plus.
