Support Analyst – Equities IT Hong Kong
Description Global investment bank seeks a support analyst to work in their Cash Equity Global Services Delivery team. This is a regional team supporting all cash related trading applications used by the front office in the region. The team is responsible for overall availability of the applications and controls deployment/releases, contingency planning and maintenance of applications in production. The team has representatives in major locations including Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Sydney, etc. Depending on applications, 1st line support is generally provided by the team in Singapore. The applications that are supported by the team includes cash equity trading, order routing, inventory control, electronic connectivity (FIX), straight through processing, etc…
Specific criteria include:
- 2-3 years experience in an IT support or development role
- Windows administration experience (registry/service management, MSI packaging etc.)
- UNIX/Solaris: Intermediate system administration
- 1-Yr experience with an Object Oriented Programming language Java/Perl/C++/.NET preferably
- Must have a strong complement of development skills in various Microsoft technologies like VB, Excel VBA, ASP, C++ and .NET.
- Must possess a good understanding of database technologies (Sybase and Oracle) with excellent knowledge of transactions, error handling and security.
- Experience supporting/developing applications on J2EE app servers (BEA Weblogic/IBM Websphere).
- Experience with Messaging and Pub/Sub products (Webmethods, MQ-Series, Tibco RV)
- Experience with web technologies JSP, XML, DHTML and HTTP servers.
- Understanding of client-server applications in a heterogeneous networked environment.
- Understanding of N`etworking Fundamentals.
- Understanding of Cash Equity Businesses for the APAC markets
- Development and monitoring of scheduled jobs using Autosys job management framework.
- Ability to develop and extend knowledge and understanding of technology and business issues. Be able to order, identify and prioritize issues and their solution and assist in developing specifications for enhancements.
- Define and implement infrastructure redundancy for BCP and disaster recovery.
- Individuals must be self-starting and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be customer focused and able to co-ordinate between disparate groups.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
Education - Reputable University Degree (computer science or engineering degree)
