Team Lead – Equities IT - Hong Kong
Description Global investment bank seeks a team leader. The ideal candidate will be leading the Asian Sales trading, Execution & Routing team having 6-7 permanent staff. The focus of the team is to provide process and system solutions that optimize flow efficiency and provide maximum value content to clients who operate on the cash equities desks within the Asian region. Application coverage includes order management system (OMS), routing system or also known as straight through processing (STP), trading platform (either regional or local trading platform) and other peripheral systems supporting the flow for each market. Countries covered by the Asian team include Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and China. Product coverage is Cash Equities.
The objective of the team is to
i) Build on top of a global platform (Fusion/Lens/GNB) for Asian Equities in enhancing salestraders’ marketing capability
ii) Rebuild the routing system in the region in the next 18 months such that only 10% of flow is touched
iii) Make the entire process less sensitive to volume.
The ideal candidate will have a very thorough understanding of the following disciplines:
Business – Full order life cycle (front to back), including order capture, order routing, order execution, middle office allocation and feeds into back office systems for confirmation and settlement; roles & responsibilities differences between salestraders and execution traders; business operating model differences between client agency orders and proprietary orders; the workings of electronic order flow including client facing (FIX based), market facing electronic stock exchanges and market specific rules or practices. Understanding of the intricacies of Asian market is highly preferred.
Project Management / Delivery – Solid competence and varied experience to all phases of the project life cycle, including requirements gathering and analysis, object oriented design specification, prototyping and coding to the design spec, testing the system produced systematically against the original design, source code control, release management, defect tracking, and production support. This includes the use of all the major tools and techniques in these areas. Candidate must have proven record in delivering at least one front office business critical system.
Technical Knowledge/Skills– Experience in using Java / C++/C#; familiar with unix solaris platform and database; experience with middleware technologies such as Tibco; experience in integrating various systems/platforms in a seamless manner; experience in designing & developing real-time applications and technique used such as multi-threading, load balancing, fail-over, etc…
