HTML 4.3 specs, FIXimate 4.3 with errata

I would be very grateful if the current 4.3 specification was available in HTML format.

At the moment you must download a zip file, unzip it, then use either Word or Acrobat to view it.

A browser would be a more convenient method of accessing the information, without any additional software requirements. The various volumes of the specification could then just be links on a top-level page.

On a different topic, is there going to be an updated FIXimate covering the (admittedly very recent) FIX.4.3 with errata?

The specs are maintained in MS Word and we’ve found some issues with the output from Word’s “Save As HTML” feature. Issues with image references, broken links, etc. We would like to avoid a lot of manual HTML file tweaking/debugging if possible. What if we exposed the actual PDF files (in addition to being contained within a ZIP) that way you could directly browse them assuming your browser has an Acrobat Reader plug-in?

If someone (i.e. you) wants to take a whack at converting the .doc files to HTML and validating the output, we’re open to posting the results (be sure to accept the “track changes” revisions first, though).

We intend to update FIXimate within a few weeks.

I agree that exposing the PDF files would be a reasonable "least effort, maximum gain" compromise (particularly when threatened with having to do something myself :wink:
