IOIQty(tag 27) Finally got that figured out

Imported from previous forum

During the transcription of the Microsoft Word specifications over to the repository we converted the IOIQty range which was an enumeration of relative size: Small, Medium, Large OR a quantity value specified as 0 to 1000000000 into an enumeration where 0 = 1000000. So it turns out IOIQty is a Quantity field that can also contain an enumerated string value of S,M,L,U (U being unspecified). We are going to update the FIX Repository. This probably should be changed in a later version of FIX.

Speaking of the repository. With the 2009 and 2010 repositories there was considerable work done to improve quality of the content. In 2010 we worked to improve quality of the structure. We now have the Unified Repository which offers FIX users and their ISVs an incredibly powerful mechanism for automation. We will continue to provide training opportunities to teach folks how to integrate the FIX Repository into their applications.

Someone should document the IOIQty sordid history in FIXwiki, incidentally an online service that is itself generated from the FIX Repository (thanks John Cameron).
