Ironbark Adds Relational Database Storage to FpML Offering

Imported from previous forum

LONDON, 6 August, 2002 – Ironbark, the FpML component company has released a data storage product OTC Warehouse based on relational database technology. The system supports Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and Sybase Adaptive Server and is able to import and export standard FpML files and store them using half the space required by the XML.

The product is aimed at the full spectrum of OTC derivatives market participants and brings full ISDA/FpML capability within the reach of small financial institutions which only occasionally use OTC derivatives. The product is supplied with application programmer interfaces for C#, VB, C++ and Java and includes an extensive test database.

The product is the first enterprise class storage product for FpML and is based on relational database technology that has been successfully used in financial institutions for over a decade. The product implements an extensive range of business validation functions using over 200 stored procedures and is available for FpML 1, 2 and 3.

The pricing is highly competitive and starts with a desktop edition. For FpML 3 onwards, the product is licensed for vertical industry segments - i.e. a foreign-exchange dealer is not required to pay a license for equity derivatives components. Special deals apply to vendors who wish to embed OTC Warehouse into their trading and risk management applications.

About FpML
Financial products Markup Language (FpML) is a business information exchange standard for electronic dealing and processing of complex financial products, including swaps, derivatives and structured products. The protocol is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language), the standard meta-language for describing data shared between applications. FpML is coordinated by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) the global trade association representing participants in the privately negotiated derivatives industry.
