Is it possible that an Incremental Change update message would change the symbol in an order?

There does not seem to be a clear statement whether this is allowed or not allowed.
Since the Suffix cannot change, I would assume neither can the symbol, but this is not clear.

Are you referring to the Market Data - Incremental Update message?

If so, then no, Symbol is not allowed to change. This is explicitly stated in FIX 4.2 draft 2.
