The Intranet group is responsible for the underlying technology used in day-to-day management of much of this firm’s corporate intranet, as well as the companys public Web site. The Intranet group is currently working on enhancing an existing, homegrown Java based Content Management System (CMS) for firmwide use in managing both the intranet and public Web sites; as well as the firms intranet application (ELM) that will be used to power 200+ intranet sites on a common platform. ELM will also allow for personalization and customization of content by user, provide a development framework for other applications and will enable business users to create and manage Web sites that adhere to the intranet standards. The CMS and ELM will service all divisions of the firm and will be used by business representatives of all levels throughout the firm.
Experience in the financial industry not required
Candidate should understand Web publishing process flows.
As a member of the Intranet group this person will supervise the design / architecture and development processes of projects that include:
Adding new and significant functionality to our Java based CMS
Adding new and significant functionality to our Java based intranet application (ELM)
Other new and existing Java applications managed by our group.
Responsible for application development activities through the full systems lifecycle including:
Requirements management
Design
Development
Testing
Deployment
BS in Computer Science or related field required
Application development experience in a UNIX environment
At least 4 years of Java/J2EE experience (including JDBC, Servlets, JSP), with 2 years in a lead or senior role
3 or more years experience with J2EE application servers, preferably Tomcat
Strong working knowledge of XML/XSL, JavaScript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets and associated technologies
Working knowledge of Perl
Candidates must demonstrate excellent OOA and OOD skills
Experience with content management systems preferred
2 or more years experience developing systems with Sybase or other enterprise database system. Candidates must have working knowledge of SQL
Prior experience with Tomcat, Apache, Optimizeit and JUnit
