Am I the only one who thinks that knowledge of a specific version of FIX is really not relevant when evaluating candidates? What I mean is, if a candidate is a FIX wiz with 4.2, should you really care that he has no 4.4 experience?
I look at it like this. If you have the capacity to master any version of FIX and have done so, then:
- You already know most of what I need you to know
- Picking up the small changes from one version to the next will be a small task for the candidate.
