If buy side send a message with BeginString(#8)=fix4.1 to hub to exchange messages with sell side(fix4.2), what hub suppose to do?

Should the engine of hub send a reject message to buy side or simply transfer the message with BeginString(#8)=fix.4.2 to sell side?

Refer to the “FIX Session-level Test Cases and Expected Behavior” in either FIX 4.3 Volume 2’s appendix or on the FIX website within “FPL Organization”, “Global Technical”, “Archive”. The particular test case you are referring to is “2i”.

The answer is you should send a Logout message referencing the incorrect BeginString value.
