Has anyone given any thought, either from a FIX or perhaps a RIXML perspective, as to how brokers might be able relate an order received from a client back to a reseach idea from their (broker) in-house analysts? Although it is very often the case that Fund Managers form a view based on input from a number of different sources/brokers, there are occasions where buy-side orders are clearly in response to a specific reaseach analyst recommendation/idea. Do any of the broker community see any advantage in tracking this association. Perhaps the formation of RIXML.org provides the first structured opportunity for doing this, e.g. brokers pass research recommendations to a client using a RIXML message and on a FIX Order the client specifies the identifier (as established in the RIXML message) of the original idea, where the linkage is explicit.
