Manager, Applications Engineering:
Description:
· Candidates must have the ability to prioritize projects and tasks based on business requirements with strong focus on timely project completion. The incumbent is expected to work well in a team and independently, as well as to have the ability to effectively present ideas orally and in writing. He/She must have the ability to properly assess the nature of the technical issues/questions and determine ways to implement innovative and cost-effective solutions.
· The incumbent will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers to ensure the e-Business infrastructure is functional, and will provide senior technical support to our global business partners. Occasional travel will be required.
· In addition to Team leadership, the responsibilities include:
o Builds and deploys systems and maintains infrastructure
o Secures systems; documenting security needs and strategy
o Supports server systems updating application software and security tools including backup and restoration services
o Installs, configures, and maintains Application software
o Provides thorough project documentation
o Create and maintain proper project plans, track progress and work with various team representatives to address potential issues.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
· Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of experience in Application Engineering/Administration and as a Team Lead/manager.
· Strong knowledge of IBM Web Sphere application server and Portal.
· Hands-on Experience with the following: Web Servers (Iplanet/Apache), SSL, and LDAP.
· Operating System (OS) skills UNIX &/ Linux.
· Installation and configuration of Applications.
· Strong Analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Patch management experience
· Automation and scripting - Shell scripting (KSH/Perl)
· Basic networking knowledge.
· Web infrastructure design experience
Desirable Skills:
· ATG, LDAP, Oracle/DB2, SiteMinder
