Hi all,

If I receive a Market data request with a large set of symbols
and one or two of them are wrong/unknown, what do I do?

The Market Data Request allows for rejecting the whole Market Data Request (by unique ID) only.

Surely we would want to start disseminating date and only MD Req Rej those symbols that are erroneous?

Have I missed something? If I haven’t then surely this should be added?

Currently, I see no other way thant to reject the complete request. If the other side does not like this, it could break the large set down into smaller sets or even single securities.

Maybe this is addressed in FAST, I am not sure.

Just a note that FAST does not address the functional behavior of the market data messages, only the data representation.

I would be willing to support an extension to the spec that allows the Market Data Request Reject message to indicate that some, but not all, the requested symbols were rejected. An additional enumeration in the MDReqRejReason could accomplish this.
