It is a generic field and the examples should show that it can be used for both (business or technical). MDSubFeedType(1683) is available to further distinguish feed types as part of a two level hierarchy.
I just had a quick question about MDFeedType (Tag 1022) used in incremental (35=X) and snapshot (35=W) messages. The description says:
“Describes a class of service for a given data feed, ie Regular and Market Maker, Bandwidth Intensive or Bandwidth Conservative”.
Does this field have a business or technical meaning? Is it trying to qualify the type of market data feed in business terms or technical terms? Is it trying to describe a particular book of business?
