After theory classes, a FIX hands on training session is in progress using two connected computers - one running the buy side trading application simulator and the other running the sell side trading application simulator. A NewOrderSingle is sent from buy side and in response an ExecutionReport is sent from sell side. The Buy side shows an incorrect leaves quantity.
Student : “How can I find out which side (buy/sell) is wrong?”
Teacher : “Look at the message on the wire”.
The student gets up, goes behind the CPU box, locates the cable connecting these two computers and reads out “IEEE 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet 25 feet cable Max speed 100 Mbit/sec Full-duplex. This device complies with part 15 of FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1) This device may not cause harmful interference. 2) This device must accept any interference received including interefrence that may cause undesired operation.
