Position Description:
A developer to join the Messaging Technologies
engineering team. This team is responsible for the
strategic use of messaging transports and APIs
used globally throughout my client, the investment
banking division. This is a mature, cross-product
initiative to deliver a strategic messaging
infrastructure, to be used by applications within
the bank.
The role will involve consulting and deploying
internally developed products and strategies, in
addition to externally sourced technology, into
development teams within the bank. The capability
to explain and assess complex requirements,
architect deployment strategies and provide
hands-on assistance through the full life-cycle of
the projects will be required.
Responsibilities include:
Be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle
(from analysis and specification through to
testing and deployment)
Provide hands-on assistance in deploying messaging
solutions into projects
Understand and respond appropriately to the needs
of internal clients who are encountering
difficulties relating to software
Use technical and analytic expertise and knowledge
of systems to resolve problems internally or
throughout outside vendors and manufacturers
Contribute to projects being on schedule and
meeting client needs
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree required
Computer Science related degree Preferred
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in
development/consultancy environment
Investment banking experience desired
Must be able to demonstrate programming skills in
Java
Knowledge of C++ programming desired
Development under Sun Solaris and Windows NT/XP
Experience with messaging products, such as
MQSeries, webMethods Enterprise, and Tibco
Rendezvous essential. Exposure to J2EE, XML and
JMS would be extremely advantageous. A degree of
knowledge of other middleware technologies such as
Application Servers and Orac
