We have a product, FIX based. It receives trade fills from our OMS (order management system) which is also FIX based. It then “allocates” the fills across multiple portfolios (i.e. it splits the trades up, and pushes them downstream). Recently, we put too much pressure on the product and it started coming apart at the seams (i.e. the volumes we push through it and the associated trade splitting caused it to puke). We have a work-around in place now, but need somebody to come in and essentially rewrite it. We need a seasoned engineer/developer for this …no junior candidates. The good news is that we know exactly what we need it to do and we have the in-house knowledge of the code and functionality. The problem is that we’re getting really stretched with our senior IT people and this is a project that we feel we can bring somebody in on where we can clearly define the project and get them up and running quickly (therefore a contract position) …and get it completed in a timely manner.
