For SecurityID, FIX.4.1 defines:
IDSource:
1 = CUSIP
2 = SEDOL
3 = QUIK
4 = ISIN number
5 = RIC code
6 = ISO Currency Code
7 = ISO Country Code
For SecurityID, FIX.4.2 defines:
IDSource:
1 = CUSIP
2 = SEDOL
3 = QUIK
4 = ISIN number
5 = RIC code
6 = ISO Currency Code
7 = ISO Country Code
8 = Exchange Symbol
9 = Consolidated Tape Association (CTA) Symbol (SIAC CTS/CQS line format)
We have recently added following Security ID types:
10 = Wertpapier
11 = Dutch
12 = Valoren
13 = Sicovam
14 = Belgian
15 = Common (Clearstream and Euro Clear)
16 = Bloomberg
These fields do not seem to belong in the "user defined" range of 100+, but they have not been defined by the FIX committee. Are there plans to add these in 4.3. Is there a preexisting scheme for identifying these Security ID types. Is there any reason why we should not use numbers 10-16 for Security ID types?
I realize that ISIN will be the most common type of id for European securities, but we requirements to support these other codes.
