An elite Investment firm in NYC is currently seeking a junior developer to join their equities trading group. This person will be doing both development and support of front-to-back equity trading systems, and should have experience in the following areas:
As part of a development/ maintenance team, this individual will be responsible for support, maintenance, analysis of business requirements, detailed design and coding.
Sybase and SQL – 2-3 years.
Good understanding of Perl and Unix shell scripting
Good understanding of web based application development and Java.
Experience with the FIX protocol.
UDB experience is desirable.
Understanding of OO practices and methodologies
2-3 years experience in Financial Services
Experience dealing with users/ clients
Experience in performing analysis for small projects or enhancements
BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent with top of the class performance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, upbeat attitude, with a dedication to quality
Fast learner, able to pick up new ideas and approaches quickly
