NYSE Technologies is pleased to announce the release of Appia v6, the most widely deployed FIX engine globally. This release includes a new High Frequency Trading (HFT) mode option and technical enhancements designed to significantly improve Appia’s highly reliable and low latency technology infrastructure for higher overall performance.

• High Frequency Trading (HFT) Mode: The cutting-edge HFT mode for Appia allows you to tune each session based on the volume of messages - whether high or low -for superior, low-latency message delivery and a greater level of performance. In addition, an unparalleled adaptive setting dynamically tunes your session based on volume level. With HFT mode, you can achieve session-specific FIX messaging performance goals.
• High Availability (HA) Expansion: Technology enhancements improve the process and efficiency for primary determination of your back-up engine. We’ve also expanded support to cover storage area network devices (SAN).
• Improved Database Control: The Appia database now gives you greater control over how it’s used. For example, you can now perform End-of-Day activities, while carrying over unsent messages to the next trading period.
• A More Capable Extensibility Framework: Appia’s extensible framework offers a more streamlined workflow path. We’ve added plug-in points and changed the location for some points in order to support a more streamline queuing model.
