NEW YORK, July 7, 2003 — Cameron Systems today announced that Omgeo, the leading provider of global trade management services, has selected CameronFIX with High Availability for the FIX interfaces to two future STP solutions - Omgeo Allocation ManagerSM, a multi-broker portal for investment managers, and Omgeo Deal Time STP, a hub translating FIX allocation messages into Omgeo CTM format. The services will ultimately enhance both the buy-side and sell-side’s ability to send and receive electronic allocations whilst also leveraging existing front and back office technology investments.
“As an active member of the FIX Global Steering Committee, we see the FIX industry protocol as an essential and complimentary piece to Omgeo’s range of STP services,” said Kathy Ball-Tonic, Executive Director of the global STP Partners Program at Omgeo. “Omgeo is embracing FIX to create a more streamlined STP environment for our customers. CameronFIX has a robust high availability solution and it has been easy to integrate. The FIX expertise provided by the Cameron Systems team has helped us on this project greatly.”
“We are delighted to work with an industry leader such as Omgeo,” said Martin Koopman, Commercial Director at Cameron Systems. “We are especially pleased to work with Omgeo on these innovative uses of the FIX protocol, which will provide additional efficiencies to the securities market.”
Omgeo is using CameronFIX version 6.1 as the FIX interface to receive FIX order and allocation messages into the Omgeo Allocation Manager and Omgeo Deal Time STP. The messages are then passed into the appropriate solution - Omgeo Central Trade ManagerSM (Omgeo CTM) or Omgeo OASYSSM. CameronFIX is used in a highly available setting, with a hot running back up server available over a LAN and WAN. The agreement is non-exclusive.
CameronFIX version 6.1 was released in April 2003. New functionality includes second generation high availability, FIX-FIX routing, connection scheduling, increased FIX dialects, drop in business logic, low cost / low risk integration and double the performance.
Omgeo Allocation Manager will reduce the growing costs associated with non-automated counterparties. The service will link investment managers who are not automated with an affordable, Web-based trading blotter that will connect them to their broker/dealers on Omgeo OASYS and Omgeo OASYS-TradeMatchSM to process U.S. fixed income and equity trades. The CameronFIX engine will be used by Omgeo to receive an automated notice of execution (NOE) from the participating broker/dealer, in standard FIX format.
Omgeo Deal Time STP will allow for the automation of allocations earlier in the trade cycle and enable firms to process trades, from inception through to settlement, using a single connection and the FIX protocol. It will also enable investment managers to send automated FIX allocations to Omgeo’s community of broker dealers, irrespective of the broker dealers current ability to process FIX allocations.
Radius Partners, a Massachusetts-based Solution Provider for the Financial Industry, provided the system design and integration expertise by using products including Cameron Systems’ CameronFIX Universal Server and BEA’s Weblogic Application Server. “The CameronFIX Universal Server’s ease of installation and integration contributed significantly to the quick development and deployment schedule,” said Chris Walsh, CEO of Radius Partners. “The engine has continued to demonstrate exceptional performance and reliability.”
