openfix.com and b2bits.com

Imported from previous forum

I am developing a SIMPLE fix engine and wanted to test against either openfix.com or b2bits.com free test suites. But, i got stumped by openfix.com when they required my “FIX comp Id”. I cant track down exactly what this is. Probably a dumb question but help would be appreciated? Is b2bits.com easier to test against? Thanks!

neal,

the “FIX comp id” in this case refers to your engine’s “SenderCompID” field that is required for all FIX message headers. this field is used to identify your “firm” when received by a counterparties’ engine.

if you have additional questions or have specific questions regarding openfix.com please feel free to send an email to support@openfix.net.

cheers,
david

Thank you! I actually did email support@openfix.net but they did not reply. I am assuming i can name the SenderCompId whatever i want as long as it doesnt change.

Thanks,

Neal:

You are very welcome to go ahead and register at http://www.fixcertification.org to see, which system is easier to test against.
