When creating parameter validation Edits for a parameter with enumerated items, if it is a condition with a value should the constant reference the enum id or the wire value?

\<val:Edit field=“SweepUpTriggerValueType” operator=“NE” value=“eExplicit”/\>
or
\<val:Edit field=“SweepUpTriggerValueType” operator=“NE” value=“5”/\>

Same question for State Rules, if it is a condition with a value should the value reference the enum id or the uiRep?

Hi Cathy,

When an element is a descendant of a element, value will refer to the enum (if there is one).

When an element is a descendant of a element, value will refer to the wire value.

This inconsistency can be annoying. But, as I recall, our motivation was for the s to operate on the data model after all the values had been loaded from the controls. They enum IDs were only to provide a link between the and the of a .
