This position is responsible for managing the initial deployment and subsequent direction and product development of the major trading platform for the company. The product manager ensures that products are developed and enhanced in line with strategic objectives and industry best practices. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the equity-trading environment and possess strong communication, leadership, influencing, and problem-solving skills. Essential Accountabilities:
• Work with stakeholders at all levels to define and scope product enhancements to support short and long term strategic plans. Stakeholders include senior management, regulation, business units, and trading members of the Exchange
• Manage and hands-on assist the delivery of business and functional requirements specifications required to develop new initiatives, meet regulatory obligations or enhance the product
• Ensure that requirements and design reflect the business and regulatory needs by actively engaging the business teams and providing industry knowledge and expertise throughout the product lifecycle
• Deliver product initiatives within expected timeframes and synchronized with regulatory obligations. This will entail the management of competing priorities.
• Maintain the highest level of subject matter expertise related to product on both a technical and business level
• Assist QA in validating test plans from requirements and work with business during user acceptance testing
• Support finalization of major lifecycle documents including requirements, design, product brief, and phasing plan
• Continually monitor effectiveness of releases, product performance, and competitive positioning.
Knowledge & Experience
• In-depth knowledge of US capital markets, including competitive environment and ongoing regulatory initiatives
• Minimum 5 years relevant equity and/or options industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years related product management experience
Prior experience working with external vendors responsible for the technical development of the product
• Proven experience working with a broad range of participants, including senior management, regulation, and end users
