Role/Responsibilities
As Programmer/Analyst, you are responsible for carrying out on-going software development work for the company or on a client-site, as directed by your manager/team leader. Client sites may be in Toronto or at one of the other international financial centers.
The development work may include the full product life cycle- from putting together a technical specification, through to design, implementation and testing as well as installation and training. This will either be for a client, or as part of in-house development, and may involved with Our Client¡¦s Repo and Securities Finance Trading System), Our Client¡¦s trading and risk system or bespoke software development work.
You will be required to work both as part of a team and on your own.

Essential Skills
„X At least 2 years experience of development in UNIX environment, use of shell scripts and other UNIX tools.
„X 2-3 years experience with C++, with at least one of the desirable technical skills listed below.
„X Degree level education (with a high grade) in Computer Science or other numerate discipline.
Desirable Skills
„X Post-graduate qualifications- a Masters or PhD
„X UNIX systems programming/networking, COBRA, COM
„X Experience of development in NT environment, e.g Visual C++
„X Perl programming experience
„X Java programming experience
„X Rational database experience (Sybase or Oracle)
„X Business experience in the financial sector
„X Application development in client facing environment
„X Team leading skills or experience
