Our client, an agency-only execution brokerage firm trading mostly US listed and OTC equities, is looking for a technologist with systems administration experience and strong development and production support skills.
The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience, with:
- 2 - 3 years in application development
- Experience integrating systems (implementing and deploying vendor solutions, working with multiple vendors, problem solving/troubleshooting within the context of vendor solutions, etc.)
- Experience developing and supporting high volume transactional applications
- Linux system administration experience (e.g. OS, network configuration, DNS, Apache, Tomcat, mySql, etc.)
- Have experience working in a small to medium sized firm.
- Be a practical self-starter
This job entails:
- production support (including trading desk support and customer support)
- system integration and development
- systems administration
- as required to support all areas of the firm including front office and back office applications.
Technology Requirements:
- Unix/Linux operating systems, primarily Linux
- Must know Java or C or C++, Perl, shell scripting, system administration
- Experience developing and deploying applications on Wintel platforms
- Experience building web applications
- Bachelors Degree in a Mathematics/Engineering/Computer Science-related field, or equivalent programming skills
Nice to have:
- Financial industry experience (a BIG plus)
- Familiarity with FIX (and CMS ideally)
- Knowledge of algorithmic trading tools
- experience with Direct Market Access vendors and tools
- Knowledge of trading processes, technologies and connectivity.
