The Global Technical Committee has reviewed and preliminarily approved the Bloomberg Open Symbology Extension. The Bloomberg Open Symbology SecurityIDSource Extension is a proposal to add a new SecurityIDSource enumeration to specifically support the new Bloomberg Open Symbology (BSYM) BBGID. The BSYM BBGID is different and separate from legacy Bloomberg identifiers which uses the current SecurityIDSource(22)=A value.
The document now enters a public comment period in which public review and feedback is encouraged. Once the public comment period closes, the Global Technical Governance Board will meet to review public comments before final approval.
