The Global Technical Committee has reviewed and preliminarily approved the PriceType Extension proposal. The FIX Protocol has become the industry standard for quoting and trading individual securities and strategies. As instruments become more complex new methods for pricing and the values of the price type fields are extended to support them. This extension proposes that the values of several price type fields be extended.
The document now enters a public comment period in which public review and feedback is encouraged. Once the public comment period closes, the Global Technical Governance Board will meet to review public comments before final approval.
