The Global Technical Committee has reviewed and preliminarily approved the enhancement proposal to support UMTF Symbology. The proposal supports a new security identifier scheme called “UMTF” (Uniform Multilateral Trading Facility code). UMTF is a securities symbology scheme, specifically for equities, used by a number of European execution venues since 2008.
The document now enters a public comment period in which public review and feedback is encouraged. Once the public comment period closes, the Global Technical Governance Board will meet to review public comments before final approval.
