The Global Technical Committee has reviewed and preliminarily approved the GTC CommissionDataGrp Proposal. As the use of FIX Protocol has grown over the years and trade reporting has become more complex firms have found the existing FIX component and tags for capturing commission data deficient. Working with the Buy-Side Working Group and with contributions from other member firms the GTC proposes to provide a new repeating CommissionDataGrp component to be used as an alternative to the existing CommissionData component when multiple instances of commission or new commission attributes are needed.
The document now enters a public comment period in which public review and feedback is encouraged. Once the public comment period closes, the Global Technical Governance Board will meet to review public comments before final approval.
