The Global Technical Committee has reviewed and preliminarily approved the HPWG – Application Optimization Proposal. This gap analysis is a proposal from the High Performance Working Group’s Application Layer Sub-group. This first proposal provides guidelines towards the usage of the FIX application layer in high performance environments and an initial set of extensions to provide further optimization of FIX application level messages, specifically in the areas of Order and Execution messages. Two new messages, MassOrder and MassOrderAck are also proposed as part of this initiative.
Interested reviewers are asked to review this proposal in detail and provide feedback through a reply posting to this discussion thread. Of note is also an open discussion item described in Section 3.6 of the proposal that the GTC is soliciting wider feedback on.
GTC co-chairs encourage detailed feedback on this proposal as there are some new ideas and concepts being introduced.
The document now enters a public comment period in which public review and feedback is encouraged. Once the public comment period closes, the Global Technical Governance Board will meet to review public comments before final approval.
Please post feedback, comments, and questions as replies to this discussion thread.
