The Global Technical Committee has reviewed and preliminarily approved the Position Maintenance Report Enhancements. This gap analysis proposal seeks to enhance the PositionMaintenanceReport message to allow for position maintenance reports to be sent to the receiving party in an unsolicited manner and to allow for the cancellation of a prior position maintenance report via a reference of message identifiers. Both of these are achieved via the proposal to make the PosMaintStatus field conditionally required and the PositionAmountData component conditionally required under certain conditions.
The document now enters a public comment period in which public review and feedback is encouraged. Once the public comment period closes, the Global Technical Governance Board will meet to review public comments before final approval.
