Query on Fix T 1.1 for 5.0

Imported from previous forum

Can anyone explain me a bit about the Transport Independence Framework 1.1 for Fix 5.0 I don’t belong to a technical background but am very much interested in knowing what it is and how does it differentiates from the previous fix versions.

Regards,
Sunil Singh

Sunil,

check out http://www.fixprotocol.org/specifications/fixt1.1spec for an overview and the complete documentation.

With regard to your question it says “Although FIX Session Protocol version 1.1 (FIXT 1.1) represents an architectural change, in fact FIX T1.1 consists of very minor changes to the FIX Session Protocol as defined in FIX 4.0-4.4.” You should easily find the differences if you are familiar with the session protocol before FIX 5.0.

Hanno.

Thanks Hanno. I have gone through the link and could not find much help in understanding the T1.1 Is there any sample log for a fix 5.0 session? Am not able to understand what exactly does transport independence means.

Sunil
