Hello all,
I recently attended the 2016 FIX Boston Trading Briefing and really enjoyed the different discussion topics. One item that stood out was the mention of 2017 goals for the FIX community to implement additional means of providing the buy side with details regarding how the sell side is trading their orders.
Does the FIX protocol currently offer any tags aside from 29,30,76, and 851 to provide the buy side with more granular information on execution reports? Specifically, is there anything similar to tag 104 (IOIQualifier) but for an ER message? For instance, if an ER is received with 29=3 or 29=4, are there any additional tags that could be used by the sell side and sent back to the buy side, to provide more information on how the order is being traded when they are trading as principal? Perhaps another option would be to have more FIX protocol defined values for tag 851 to increase granularity?
Thanks.
