Conside this scenario…
FIX Engine A can only initiate a session. It establishes a session with FIX Engine B, exchanges messages and then sends a Logout Msg#x, FIX Engine B sends a Resend Request from x-5 to x-1, followed by a confirming Logout Message.
How should Fix Engine A respond to this?
i) Should it resend the messages and assume that it has now logged out. (what if Engine B again misses out a resent message?)
ii) Should it after resending the messages, resend the logout message as well.

By the book…
fix engine A should send a test request to force fix engine B to perform gapfill operations. Once the testrequest is replied, Fix engine A can send a logout message.
