Security Exchange (tag 207)

I need to see the full list of FIX 4.2 “Appendix 6-C” as referred to for tag 207 (Market used to help identify a security. Valid values: See “Appendix 6-C”). Can’t seem to find the document anywhere.

Please provide url or actual list/pdf.

thank you
Pierre

I mean even if you found it, it can’t be the full list of valid values given that there are venues closing down, others newly created. I’d suggest to look up the ISO codes which probably are used pretty much everywhere.

Edit: now that I looked it up I recalled that FIX 4.2 had Reuters Exchange codes. There is a list in the doc but I am not sure if I can post it here since you need to login to the FIX Trading Community site. However, in my experience the counterparties are already using MICs for FIX4.2 instead of Reuters codes. But that is only my personal experience.

@pierrefontaine The recommended practice now is to use MIC for tag 207 regardless of what every of FIX you’re implementing. The Appendix 6-C that was in FIX 4.2 spec were the Reuters exchange codes as @christophjohn pointed out and if you really want to see it the last FIX 4.2 errata is here. The most updated MIC list can be found at www.iso10383.org

@christophjohn, @ltaikit - thank you both for the feedback. Agree with using MIC but needed to comprehend the 4.2 values to strengthen my stance towards using MIC.

Again appreciate the feedback.
