In the definition of the Security Definition message (MsgType = d) in FIX 4.2, the description of the SecurityType field (field id 167) includes the following;
Set to "?" if Security Definition Request is looking for the Security Types
If this is correct …
(1) if SecurityType can contain "?" can this information be added to the Field Definitions section of the errata for the 4.2 specification. At present it is not included in the list of permitted values.
(2) what is placed in the related Security Definition Request to indicate that a client is looking for Security Types ?
