Title: Senior Application Support Analyst for Equity Investment Management (Highly Visible Role)
Client: Major International Financial Company, Voted #1 Working environment
Location: Westchester County, NY (30 Minute train ride from NYC)

DESCRIPTION/ REQUIREMENTS:

Major International Financial company in Westchester County (30 minute train from NYC), seeks a Senior Application Support Analyst for Equity Investment Management.

-You will provide first level support for all global locations.
-Your focus will be that of a primary liaison between the business users and the technical developers.
-The system portfolio supported by this team includes a broad suite of vendor applications such as Longview 2000 and Reuters RKIM as well as proprietary internally built applications used by Research, Portfolio Management and Trading.
-You will work with both software vendor and internal technology groups for problem investigation, resolution, and documentation
-Provide Quality Assurance testing of application enhancements
-Perform product demonstrations, presentations and training to business users
-This role is highly visible among senior business clients, including buy side research analysts, Directors of Research, senior portfolio managers, and senior traders.
-You must have sound investment knowledge in equity portfolio management and trading functions
-You must have ability to eventually take a leadership role within the Applications Support Team including identifying team members strengths and weaknesses, and foster improvements in the teams non-coding skill sets
-Should be familiar with SQL Server and stored procedures.

  • Should be able to provide Production Support, Business Analysis and Coding.
    -Shoud have experience with or exposure to a variety of technical development and business environments such as: Java, .Net, C++, SQL Server, Sybase, several vendor applications (some with customized interface modules), proprietary portfolio management, research, and trading applications, electronic trading/FIX, Crystal reports/Enterprise, Factset, Bloomberg, etc.
    -Experience with structured testing environments is a plus, including developer QA and User Acceptance Testing procedures.
    -Understanding of systems development methodologies and Total Quality Management
    -Comply with internal standards, metrics and industry best practices for application support.
  • Should be a self-motivated, detail oriented, efficient, and assertive individual, who can work well under pressure, provide rapid problem solving and follow up coordination, and take the necessary initiative to see tasks through to completion
    -Additional Pluses: Experience in providing support for investment management applications including research, portfolio management and trading functionality
    -Expert knowledge of investment instruments, compliance, trading and trade settlement processes and/or specific software development tools.
    -Specific experience with vendor tools and standards such as Longview 2000, RKIM, Factset, Crystal, or FIX is a plus.
