Java Architect - VP - CHICAGO
For a major global Financial Institution. Seeking a talented individual to play a key role in the
Global Foreign Exchange Architecture Team. Our client has a substantial J2EE
infrastructure and development effort to support there foreign exchange
e-trading systems.
The role involves:
- Designing and implementing core J2EE and messaging components for our
foreign exchange e-commerce systems. - Formulating and evangelizing development ‘Best Practices’, including
agile programming methods - Advising and designing key aspects of the systems architecture
- Evaluating 3rd party products
The ideal candidate would have a development background and be able to
design and develop new API functionality.
Candidates must have the ability to do hands-on development in a J2EE
environment. Key technical skills include
Java/J2EE,
light-weight Java frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
Sybase/Oracle,
Weblogic application servers,
FIX implementations,
messaging (Rendezvous and JMS),
XML technologies,
Agile programming methodologies
Solid understanding of software source control, including familiarity
with Clear Case and/or perForce.
An excellent understanding of OO design principles along with strong
architectural skills, including an understanding of componentized
architecture, is essential. Knowledge of market data, networking
principals and firewall connections would be advantageous.
