We are currently investigating Alogrithmic trading within our firm. What type of maintenance and support is required on the FIX Engine on a day to day basis?

Day-to-day, not much. Changes of the FIX line to brokers changes occasionally, i.e a few times/year, perhaps, But the real area of oversight and change is to the algos, which have to constantly be monitored and tweaked.

Yes, but it’s generally set up to cycle automatically, (rename logs, reset FIX sequence numbers, etc.), and does not require human intervention.

Fix Engine Support

  1. Monitor all clients and internal connections
  2. to be able to reset sequence no for any given connection on fly
  3. EOD/Archive jobs
  4. Fix engine configuration should be dynamic to acomodate new client Intraday or change the setting of client
