Witold Sames from Bloomberg works with a fix engine product. He as looked at the sfe/sycom fix spec. Please see his response to my previous request to look at the sycom version of fix.
As I understand it, there are differences in the session layer, in particular the heartbeat in the login message. There are other differences as well.
Obviously, this makes it difficult for people with fix engines to add the SFE as a FIX destination. Will this mean that there will be less volume on SYCOM? I don’t know. But there will definitely be more people working harder to access the exchange.
Does anyone know if there are specific reasons why these differences exist?
