Solicited and Non Solicited Orders

Hi,

I was wondering how solicited orders are differentiated in FIX 4.0 or FIX 4.1. In order to meet certain compliance requirements one needs to specify if an order was solicited.

How is it being handled currently.

Can you use IOIid or QuoteID to indicate that it was previously indicated or quoted? OrdType has enums for those two as well.

Hi,

IOIid and QuoteID can be used in case of an electronic solicitation. In cases where the broker calls his client and solicits an order
EX: BUY AOL @ 100 cos it is a good deal and the stock will do well. I would not have a IOIid. Similarly in cases where the client calls by phone to place an order I would not have a quote ID.
