Sr. PM - Mainframe Development - this position is located in nyc.
Base 130k to 160k with total comp in 200k range.
Position Description:
This position is for a senior level application development manager that will be responsible for managing application development/support teams and interfacing with multiple clients. The position will start with responsibility for the current systems and their processes and will evolve to include re-architecture and re-engineering projects to support the strategic direction of the firm.
Details include:
· Support for the tax reporting, corporate actions and security master database applications
· Managing 3 project managers, multiple project leads and developers
· Current technology includes a mainframe environment running COBOL and VSAM
· Facing off against multiple business areas and establishing project priorities and providing problem resolution
Skills Required:
· Experience in developing and managing mainframe applications using COBOL, VSAM, and relational databases
· Experience in brokerage applications
· Strong project process and management skills (SDLC, resource planning, etc.)
· Ability to form strong relationships with multiple business areas
· Excellent verbal, written, presentation and people skills
· Experience in managing web development
· Leadership skills
· Ability to think both tactically and strategically and understand the difference between the two
· Ability to interface with multiple groups, both technical and non-technical
Skills Desired:
· Experience supporting tax reporting, security master or corporate action applications
· Experience in integration and consolidation projects
· Experience in vendor evaluations and using vendor products
· Experience in re-engineering and re-architecture efforts
